We are going to travel to S.P.C.A in Mangere with the help of Laura’s mum. We are going to ask for permission to play with the pets and help out at the before we plan when we are going. We feel we need to do this because the pets are more likely to be adopted if they are happy and cheerful. It will give them the best chance possible for getting a new home. We believe that animals are being mistreated in the pet shops and are not safe. Animals should be treated with respect just like people are treated with respect. We want to help the employees with their job and make it easier we also want to cheer up the animals ! We will phone different shops to see if we can help out.
Laura’s mum Debbie- for the car ride. S.P.C.A manager- for permission to come to their pet store. Miss Knowles- for permission to go to the pet store and organise a time to leave the school premises. Our families- to tell them what is happening and ask for permission to leave school during class time.
1.Contact S.P.C.A manager and ask for permission to go and help. 2.Organise a day with Miss Knowles to go to the pet store. 3.Ask our parents if it is alright for us to travel out of school. 4.Then we will get in the car and travel to S.P.C.A pet store. 5. After this we will help the workers clean the animals cages and help make the pets happier so they can find a good home.
We are going to email or phone the S.P.C.A pet store manager and ask for permission to come to their store and try to cheer up the pets so they are more likely to be adopted. We are then going to travel there on one school day with Laura’s mum.
We are going to travel to S.P.C.A pet store in Botany with the help of Laura’s mum. We are going to ask for permission to play with the pets and help out at the pet store before we plan when we are going. We feel we need to do this because the pets are more likely to be adopted if they are happy and cheerful. They change their pets every two weeks and we want to give them the best chance possible of finding a new home.
Reflection.
Over the past eight weeks, we have been doing inquiry work. Our goal has been to help the community in some way by making something easier or better.
For our task we decided to help animals. We tried asking a few pet stores to see if we could help, but alot of them said no. We finally asked the S.P.C.A. if we could help out there in some way and they offered us a tour of the S.P.C.A. and learn some new stuff about animals and the animals that are special to the S.P.C.A. We also helped make the job easier for the people who work at the S.P.C.A. and made the animals more joyful by making toys for them.
We decided t do this because we think that in pet stores and other places like the S.P.C.A animals are not being treated right and dont seem to be happy all the time.
We thought that by helping out with the animals and the staff it would make things alot easier and it would make the animals have a more happy life.
